Privacy Policy
How we handle information you share with us. Effective July 5, 2026.
Captain Skippy Charters ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to captainskippyfishingcharters.com and to bookings made by phone, text, or email.
Information we collect
We only collect information you provide directly (name, phone, email, party size, preferred trip date, and any special requests when you submit a booking inquiry or contact form), together with limited technical data automatically collected by our analytics provider — the pages you view, the approximate location derived from your IP, your device and browser, and the referrer that brought you to the site.
How we use it
We use booking information only to schedule and confirm your trip, to reach you before the trip if weather or conditions require a reschedule, and to answer questions you send us. We use analytics data to understand which content is most useful, to fix problems, and to plan improvements. We do not sell your information and we do not share it with third parties for their marketing.
Analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics 4 to measure aggregate site traffic. Google may set cookies to distinguish visitors and remember preferences. You can opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Our data retention is set to 14 months.
Payments and deposits
We do not store credit card or bank account information on this site. Deposits are handled by third-party payment services (Venmo, PayPal, Cash App, Zelle) or by check; each service handles your payment data under its own privacy policy.
Data retention
We keep booking correspondence for up to two seasons so we can help returning customers. Analytics data is retained by Google for 14 months. You can ask us to delete your booking correspondence at any time by emailing [email protected].
Your rights
You can request a copy of the personal information we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing [email protected]. California residents have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA; EU/UK residents have additional rights under GDPR/UK GDPR. We will respond within 30 days.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Booking inquiries are made by adults on behalf of the whole party.
Security
We host the site on Cloudflare Pages, protected by HTTPS/TLS on every page. No system is perfectly secure — you should always be careful about the information you share online.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Effective" date at the top of this page will change when we do.
